Booking Breaks In Lanzarote
There are many different types of holiday available for anyone planning a break on Lanzarote. Ranging from quiet vacations in the countryside through to package holiday deals in large and bustling resorts. As this small Canary Island manages to appeal to all visitors.
Lanzarote is one of seven islands known collectively as the Canaries which are Spanish owned. They all benefit from a semi topical climate which obviously has helped to establish them as a popular holiday destination. And they are located four hours away from their main markets in Europe, such as Germany and Britain.
In the past most holidays here were booked via travel agents or selected from the brochures of tour operators. But that has all changed over the last decade or so. As the internet has revolutionised the way in which people find and book their holidays. Flights to Lanzarote can be found online via comparison websites such as Skyscanner – as well as direct from the airlines themselves. With many offering incentives to book and even check in online. The island is serviced by all of the leading players such as easyJet and Ryanair so it´s easy to pick up a decent return deal.
As for accommodation this can also of course be booked direct these days too. With numerous websites offering attractive offers on hotels and holiday villas in Lanzarote. As well as complete package deals and all inclusive holidays too.
Tanks to its semi tropical climate Lanzarote can be enjoyed whatever the time of the year. Christmas and Easter are peak booking periods and the school summer holidays are always busy too. But for anyone who can pick and choose when they take a holiday months such as November and February are absolutely ideal. As everything on the island is open as usual but there are far less crowds. Making it much easier to explore Lanzarote´s beaches and key sights.
Anyone planning to do this will need to rent a car as the local bus services can be frustratingly infrequent outside of the three main tourist resorts. But fortunately there are Lanzarote car hire offices in each resort as well as at the airport. And rental rates here are much cheaper than on other holiday islands such as the Balearics. Expect to pay around €15 per day for a standard two door vehicle. Whilst petrol is priced at just €0.80 per litre.
